NL Announces Rookie of the Month

It was an exceptional month, especially for rookie Fernando Suárez. The center fielder for the Cincinnati Reds performed like a veteran and was named the best newcomer in the National League.
He captured the honor by hitting .359 in 27 games with 37 hits, 5 home runs and 17 RBIs.
This season, Suárez has hit at a .325 clip with 123 RBIs, 37 home runs and 103 runs scored.

September's Premier Rookie Named by AL

Tony Martínez is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest American League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.
In September the Oakland hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .293 average with 27 hits, 8 home runs and 19 RBIs.
This year, Martínez has hit at a .266 clip with 99 RBIs, 39 home runs and 118 runs scored.

John Tudor of St. Louis had an outstanding September with a 4-0 mark and was chosen the Pitcher of the Month in the National League.
He topped off the month with a 0.84 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 43 innings, fanned 36 and held opposing teams to a .217 average.
This season in 31 starts, John Tudor has a record of 10-11 with 174 strikeouts in 196.2 innings and a 3.07 ERA.
