Brewers Stumble, Losing to Rangers, 5-2
|
The Texas Rangers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-2, at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Leading the charge for Texas was right fielder Juan Gonzalez. He went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. C J Wilson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3. Chris Bosio was tagged with the loss. Jeff Russell, who is tied for 7th in the AL in saves with 30, nailed down the save.
With Texas leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Gonzalez batted against Milwaukee pitcher Chris Bosio. Gonzalez hit a slider to left for a run-scoring double. His 16th double of the season put the Rangers on top, 3-1.
Texas manager commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The Rangers, at 63-94, sit in last place in the American League Western Division.
